Oasis did come to Taiwan. Due to China's ban on Noel's visiting, Taiwan got the chance to invite this over 15 years British rock band for a gig. Two days ago, thousands of young people spending whole day time standing in lines as if making their pilgrimage. Madly, I am one of them. lol
2009.April.03, at 0700am I was awaken by my friend who had a long journey from Kaohsiung one day before the concert. Few days ago, the organizer announced that the top 1,000 audience will get the number tickets for the guaranty of entering the hall at beginning and receiving the free poster at the end, so we decided to set off two hours earlier from Chung-li. With exciting mood and "Morning Glory" from iPod, we took the bus all the way to Taipei.
When arriving there, we found out there were already hundreds of people standing in the line. Actually, we even not sure if we still can get the number tickets, but all we could do was pray in our mind and W-A-I-T. However, it was only 1100am. Sadly, gossiping was the only time-killer. Meanwhile,"Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you... " was sung with guitar. Someone was entertaining everyone. Good job!;) And, since we got there, there has been always an approximately 60-year-old lady in the line. EXACTLY! Rock 'n Roll is never too old!:D
After one hour the number tickets delivered, I am the 0893 of top 1,000 audience. whew...
Finally, the most nervous moment came, but it was the worst of all. Messy and unorganized ticket checking system brought the entering process into a chaos. sigh... There were too many things to complained about. Let me skip it. By the time of am0700, we took the escalator up to the 4th floor of hall. WE quickly crowded to the right side of the stage which is in the front of where Noel stands and we were only 10 meters away. :P When the warming band, 1976, walked on the stage, I knew tonight i will jump all the way...
Like the online pre-published setlist, "Fuckin' In The Bushes" was playing as an opening. At the same time, i started to search Liam all over the stage even though i had to stand on tiptoe but still only can look through the interspace of two tall guys in front of me. Shortly, "Rock 'n' Roll Star" tune was running. We can't stop pushing ourself jumping closer to the stage, screaming and singing. Suddenly, it got extremely crowded and the air was getting hot and thin. I even barely breathed so that i jumped higher to catch more fresh and cooler air! Looking at Liam under the spot light, it's definitely the craziest concert i have taken part in.
I thought it's impossible to be worse until a group of drunken English squeezed in with elbows. Ho ho... The situation became a real CHAO. :D It incredibly got crowder and we were moving like a wave with sweat from people around me! Of course it is not comfortable so there two girls were really pissed off by those foreigners. They were scolding back to those 1.8 meter-height guys. sooo MAD! Like band, like fans. Hahaha...
Even if there were so many weird things happened around me, I still felt so thrilled to sing along with them. When Liam sung "Oh, let me be the one that shines with you and we can slide away...", my tear dropped down slowly. And, my dream came true when the hall was full of the singing "So Sally can wait. She knows it's too late as we're walking on by. Her soul slides away. "But don't look back in anger!" I heard you say." by everyone and Noel. For the best of all, I heard my very first song from OASIS, "Champagne Supernova." I even cried twice that night. It was really awesome. Thank you. :-)
One of my friends fainted away during the concert. Fortunately, a heart-kind girl helped her at that moment and she was fine at the end. Otherwise, this memory will be full of regret. Good luck for your graduate project. ;)
