Golden Horse Weekend

2001:A Space Odyssey
Stanley Kubrick

Video telephone, artificial intelligence(A.I.), spacemen and shuttle before Armstrong landed on the Moon.Yes, they are all showed up in a 40 years old sci-fi movie. It is amazing that the director had so exact imagination of the future. Actually, before i went to this movie, those friends who have seen the movie told me it's one of the best sci-fi movies in the world and it won't be out of time. However, when now it's 2008 i never expect it still can be so modern, especially it was filmed in 1968. Not only the ideas, but the art and filming techniques
are avant-garde, such as its designable red couches and fancy streamlined animation.
Never save your cheers for the outstanding shows. This is
my first time attending the golden horse film festival. I am quite surprised when the audience applauded to the classic sunrise shot at the opening of the movie. Obviously, most people have seen it before and they came to theater to do the review of it. I am so impressed by this behavior. Of course, all the audience gave a big hand at the end of the movie.
